Why does it need Screen Recording permission?

It's a Mac permission, used only to take one screenshot when you hit "Take off" so the world can be built from your desktop's shape and colors. It never records video or audio. Without it you can still play; the world uses the theme's own colors. After granting it, quit and reopen the game once. Windows needs no permission for the screenshot.

Is the screenshot saved or sent anywhere?

No. It stays in memory and is dropped once it becomes terrain. The game only goes online to check for updates and never uploads anything.

Will my screen show up on a card?

No. Cards only show the block world, never the interface or the take-off screenshot.

Why does it want my location? Can I say no?

To place a landmark from your city, and only the Mac version asks. It asks once, accurate to a few kilometers, and turns the coordinates into a city on your computer before dropping them. Say no and it picks one from your time zone. You can also turn off Hometown landmark in Settings › Privacy to get the old lighthouse instead.

How do I connect Claude Code or Codex?

Settings › AI helper › Connect. The game shows every line it will change and writes nothing until you confirm: two hooks in ~/.claude/settings.json for Claude Code, or notify in ~/.codex/config.toml for Codex. Your config is backed up first, and you can undo it any time.

Once connected, can the game see my conversations with the AI?

No. The hooks only say "started" and "done", plus a session ID, and only to 127.0.0.1 on your own computer.

Can I play without an AI assistant?

Yes. Click the little plane icon any time. The pigeon is just a heads-up.

How long is a flight? Will it get in my way?

8 minutes by default, or 5 or 15. Press Esc any time to open the menu and head home. The pigeon never ends a flight.

What are the controls?

Arrow keys or WASD to turn, climb and dive, hold Space to speed up, Esc for the menu. Trackpad, mouse and controllers work too.

Will it slow down my computer?

Day to day it is a small icon using almost no CPU. The game itself only starts when you take off and closes when you head home.

Which computers does it run on?

On Mac, macOS 13 or later, with separate downloads for Apple silicon and Intel. On Windows, 64-bit Windows 10 or 11; ARM Windows PCs run it through the built-in emulation.

Windows says "Windows protected your PC". What do I do?

Click "More info", then "Run anyway". You only need to do it once. It shows up because the download isn't code-signed with Microsoft yet, not because anything was found.

How do I uninstall it?

Mac: quit it from the menu bar and drag it to the Trash; saves live in ~/Library/Application Support/Waitwing/. Windows: quit it from the taskbar and delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Waitwing and %APPDATA%\Waitwing. To clear progress first, use Erase in Settings.
